British Young Drivers April Camp

This year, as usual, there are two clinics to suit all ages and abilities. The advanced clinic is for ages for 16-30 years and the other clinic from 8 – 25 years.

The clinics cover a wide range of topics as well as schooling and as drivers are expected to watch and comment on the other driver’s sessions you have every opportunity to improve your skills as well as having a great time.

Details: Advanced Senior Young Drivers Clinic, aged 16 -30

Sunday 14 April –Tuesday 16 April.

This clinic has longer individual lessons.

Trainers: Anna Grayston , Roger Campbell and Rosanna Walters Symons.

The proposed timetable for the clinic is as follows: Arrive Sunday evening for the welcome dinner and discussion and on Monday you will have individual flatwork/ dressage sessions with the chance to look through your videos for added feed-back.

You will have the chance to meet the Baileys Horse Feeds nutritionist. Take part in a trot up practice and discover plans for the year.

Tuesday focuses on group lessons including cones and probably obstacles followed at 4.30 by Sports Psychology.

Details of the BYD clinic for novices up to national competitors aged 8-25

Monday 15 April to Wednesday 17 April.

Trainers: Sara Howe, Sarah Jane Williams, Roger Campbell and Rosanna Walters- Symons

Monday: activities include: weighing ponies and carriages, a workshop - Baileys Horse Feeds presentation and individual consultations with the Baileys’ nutrition adviser.

Welcome session and meet your trainer and set goals for the clinic

How to compete - tips for those new to the sport and those already competing. In the evening at Trot up practice followed by evening stables. Welcome to BYD – plans for 2019 and a supper get together with both clinics. Afterwards games on foot.

Tuesday activities include: individual dressage/flatwork lessons and cones course walking in groups with trainer. In the evening parents and adults have sports psychology with Rosanna and the rest an Easter Egg Hunt.

Wednesday sessions: dressage /flatwork / - individual lessons as well as planning routes and timings, group activity lead by a trainer - obstacles set up in a spare area and walked between driven lessons. Obstacle driving in groups, followed by prize giving.

Each evening there will be fun activities and games on foot.
