March 2018 - Real horse power on the Isle of Man

In this issue

This month we are looking ahead to the coming season. We have a new training series with Anna Grayston, one of Britain's most successful drivers and trainers, with the help of her new pony Marco. Anna will take us through the process from his arrival at the yard, through to competition. We have two informative health features looking at preparation for the upcoming competition season, a guide to watching and managing weight as the Spring grass starts to appear. We are focusing on the Isle of Man, and discover how horse drawn trams are still very much part of island life. The sale of a carriage collection of a life time is set to go under the hammer. Caroline Dale-Leech is preparing to sell the contents of Red House Farm Carriage Museum, a remarkable collection which has featured in many Hollywood films including Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Gary Docking takes a look at blinkers and Rosanna Walters-Symons is our driver in profile.
